Many people want to know the actual facts behind cannabis treatments. The DEA still class the drug as a schedule I drug which states that it has a high potential for abuse and severe psychological dependency. In regards to vaping cannabis, it showed that the vapor had overwhelming amounts of cannabinoids and contained the same amount of THC as in a marijuana cigarette. If you don’t enjoy smoking in general, you can consume cannabis by eating it or buying CBD infused creams etc.
The investigation into whether or not cannabis can treat mental illness has been ongoing. It is said to relieve symptoms of post traumatic stress and depression due to it’s release of dopamine within the brain. Cannabis has therapeutic and anti-inflammatory values, which help relax the mind and results in a better nights sleep. It can be said that cannabis can usually make a person feel happier, more relaxed and increases socialization for those that struggle with any of the aforementioned.
However, this is not the case with all mental health issues. Some conditions such as bipolar disorder or psychosis do not agree well with the use of cannabis treatments. The THC component found within cannabis can alter your mood and gives you a feeling of intoxication. At times, the use of cannabis can make you feel anxious, paranoid and disorientated. Contradictory to the above statement, it could also keep you awake.
Although using cannabis as a medical treatment for many things, it is important to do independant research before considering to use it. With each benefit, can come a negative side effect. You must always consult with your doctor to weigh out your options towards a mental health concern or any other disease.
