Main Points From The Study | CBD Helping Movement Disorders

  • The symptoms of Parkinson’s can be made better with CBD. The death of the cells found in the dopamine pathway is responsible for the spread of Parkinson’s. Further study found that the use of CBD prevented cell death and it could be theorized this could stop or at least reduce the spread of Parkinson’s Disease.
  • On the other hand, much of the research done on using THC and CBD together did not give very appealing results. However, to determine why this happens, extensive studies must be carried out. Cannabinoids are also believed to protect brain cells and their neurons.
  • CBD treatment can also result in hyperkinesias and this further enhances movement. Lack of movement is one the most recognizable and debilitating symptoms or Parkinson’s.
  • Huntington’s disease can also be treated with CBD. One study showed that CBD aids the development of striatal neurons. In Huntington’s, motor problems in the brain occur because of the certain cells, and this is where CBD provides help.

The majority of the research discussed above was carried on the models of these diseases. Hence, so far not much research is done on humans. While observing what effects CBD can have on humans keeping in mind certain conditions, the findings came out to be different. This makes it clear that it can have a different effect on people. While it might prove to be effective for some, it might not be for others.
