A new strain of weed is being developed ahead of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding. Markle’s own nephew is the creator of this new strain, called “Markle’s Sparkle”. Tyler Dooley, Meghan Markle’s nephew, has recently announced a special strain of cannabis named after his aunt. In celebration of the upcoming royal wedding, Tyler has developed a the potent hybrid called Markle’s Sparkle.
Tyler Dooley, may not be invited to the wedding, but the 25-year-old will honor his aunt’s big day in the best way he knows how. Dooley is a cannabis farmer from Oregon, USA, where recreational cannabis is fully legal. Growing cannabis has been legal in Oregon since 2015.
Cannabis remains illegal in England for the time being, so it’s unlikely any of the guests at the royal wedding will be able to sample the bride’s namesake.
Just days before Markle is due to marry Prince Harry, details of the drug were released on Leaf Buyer. Leaf Buyer is an online cannabis-dispensary database. The website introduces the strain with the following sentiments:
Noble families often inspire their country persons to craft and dedicate products to them. For a royal baby, a royal cheddar. For a royal wedding, a royal weed. Markle Sparkle is a cannabis strain dedicated to soon-to-be British Royal Meghan Markle.
The strain costs $150 an ounce. Dooley and his associates claim it is particularly useful for alleviating insomnia, pain and anxiety, and has been specially engineered to not make users’ appetites increase too much. Markle Sparkle has a “very sweet, silk taste,” according to Dooley, “with notes of fresh blueberry and a unique fruity and smooth flavor.
The strain is also said to uplift users and encourage a tingling body sensation. The drug is 23% Δ⁹-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is the psychoactive compound found in cannabis sativa, known infamously for making users “high.” Markle’s Sparkle is made through crossbreeding 3 varieties. The varieties are NYC Diesel, Northern Lights with Blueberry, and a special secret strain Dooley does not plan to reveal. The strain is described as potent.
