It’s thought that around 45 million men and women go on at least one diet every year in the United States. Almost half of this number will go on at least two diets a year. These figures seem to be rising every year as the nation becomes more health and weight conscious than ever.

Unfortunately though, this doesn’t mean that rates of obesity and the associated illnesses are on the decrease. In fact, the opposite is true. Two thirds of Americans are obese, according to studies.

Research shows that 95% of diets fail, and yet in the United States we spend a staggering $33 billion on weight loss every year. From weight loss clubs, detox teas and diet pills, it looks as though Americans are only too willing to spend their hard earned dollars in pursuit of the perfect body. And CBD is the latest product to hit the market.

Does CBD Help With Weight Loss?

Cannabidiol, which has become commonly known as CBD in recent years, is currently one of the biggest health and wellness trends in the world. The more we hear, read or watch about CBD and its effects, the more we want to jump on the bandwagon ourselves.

However, as is usually the case with health and wellness trends, not all of the information out there is reliable, or even remotely true in some cases. The advent of social media and the vast strides in communication its led to have resulted in massive sensationalism and more misinformation than ever before.

One of the most common myths spread about CBD is that it is the weight loss tool that we’ve all been waiting for. The internet is jam-packed with both men and women talking about cannabis diets and using CBD to shed the pounds. However, as it stands there’s no scientific evidence to back any of this up.

The age-old addage “buyer beware” comes to mind when discussing CBD and weight loss. There is no doubting the fact that CBD comes with a whole host of scientifically proven health benefits. From reducing pain, improving skin condition, fighting cancer cells to even fighting off infection, CBD has many wonderful properties. As of yet though, weight loss doesn’t look like it’s one of them.
