The Herpes Simplex Virus is the medical term used to describe one of the most common STD’s globally. There are two versions of the herpes simplex virus. These are HSV-1 and HSV-2 which can also be written as HSV type 1 and HSV type 2. In the United States, about 20% of men and 25% of women are infected with the herpes virus. This percentage makes up a total of 50 million people in the United States infected with the virus.
HSV type 1 – is transmitted by oral contact. This form of herpes once activated breakouts out in what’s known as a cold sore. Cold sores are also known as fever blisters oral herpes.
HSV type 2 – is a sexually transmitted disease (STD). This infection results in what’s known as genital herpes. This form of herpes is transmitted through sexual contact. HSV type 2 is dangerous. If a mother transmits the virus onto her newborn baby the virus could be fatal. It’s also dangerous if the virus is transmitted onto a person who suffers from an extremely low immune system.
The majority of people with the HSV-1 infection are unaware that they are infected because the virus shows no signs or symptoms. You could be a carrier of the infection for life without even knowing. When the virus enters the body it lays dormant until further notice. Some triggers activate the virus and once the virus is activated, that’s when symptoms start to appear. Most people will experience
When the virus first attacks the carrier, it is generally more severe and after this first attack, they are usually not as vigorous. This is mostly since your immune system hasn’t had to fight off a virus like it before. Once it has had its first experience of a breakout, your immune system will be much more able to handle future breakouts. The most common symptoms of a cold sore are
CBD oil has gone under some severe evaluations and media coverage throughout the last few months. It is in the spotlight due to studies proving that it has a place in the medical industry due to its medical benefits. The general public is becoming more aware of medical cannabis and its products in general. But CBD has really stolen the spotlight and caught the attention of the nation, as well as much of Europe.
But what is CBD? CBD oil is scientifically known as cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is an oil extract that is derived from the cannabis plant. The cannabis plant has been stigmatized for generations and is classified as a schedule 1 drug by the Controlled Substances within the US Controlled Substances Act. Concerning legality, cannabis is alongside the likes of ecstasy and even heroin.
In recent years things have started to change for cannabis though. It’s now legal across much of the United States for recreational and medicinal use. Countries like the United Kingdom and Ireland are also following suit and taking steps towards legalization. This may seem shocking, but when seen in the light of the mounting evidence stacking up in favor of the use of cannabis as a treatment for a whole host of conditions and diseases, it’s less surprising.
Through scientific evaluations and research, medical experts have found and proven that cannabinoids like cannabidiol (CBD) holds many health benefits anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, and pain relieving properties. Due to this evidence, it is believed that CBD (Cannabidiol) can help treat a range of physical and mental medical conditions like
|CBD To Treat These Medical Conditions|
|Depression and Anxiety||Epilepsy|
|Multiple Sclerosis (MS)||Parkinson’s Disease (PD)|
|Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PD)||And many more|
People are often told that CBD oil sedates you when in fact it has been proven that it does not have any sedative properties. Dr. Ethan Russo, who is a neurologist and medical scientist, stated that “Low doses of CBD can actually be alerting, neutralizing some of the sedative properties of many cannabis strains” and even other drugs.
People are also often told that CBD makes you high. This is false information. CBD does not contain any psychoactive compounds. Although CBD is from the cannabis plant, that’s not its role in biology. There is only one chemical compound in the plant that makes you high and has psychoactive properties. That is the THC compound which is extracted from CBD oil (but can be combined for specific medical uses).
Since CBD is a relatively new form of treatment, there is not much support backing it up. However, there are more and more studies being carried out on the plant because it’s proving an engaging interest in the field of medicine. For now, what we do know is that CBD could be an excellent treatment for herpes as it’s immune system supporting, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties can all tackle the symptoms of the virus very effectively.
Unfortunately, there is still no cure for herpes, however, CBD can be used to help treat it. Once you catch the virus you will have it for the rest of your life. However, using CBD oil to treat it could significantly minimize breakouts and the impact that herpes has on your day to day life.
Remember that CBD remains an illegal substance in many parts of the United States, so always be sure to do your research and establish whether or not it’s legal where you’re living. You should also take care to notify your family doctor of your choice to use CBD oil if you are undergoing an established treatment plan for any illness or condition.
