This article is going to discuss those awful tension (stress) headaches. Why do we get them? How do we get them? What can we do to avoid them and how can we treat them? Don’t worry because this article is going to tell you exactly that. Headaches are so annoying and they are also very common. The most common type of headache is the tension headache (stress headache). It is estimated that many people (80 to 90 per cent of the population suffer from tension headaches at least some time in their lives). Women are generally more affected by tension headaches than men are.

In order to try and prevent headaches, make sure that you improve your overall lifestyle, and make lifestyle changes slowly (not all at once as you may become bombarded). First, you should start off at improving your posture especially if you work in an office. Maybe instead of using an office chair opt for an exercise ball to sit on. They have been proven to be great for improving posture and they are also fun! Start going to bed early and getting a good night rest. Make sure to eat regularly and never skip out on breakfast. Take regular breaks for a computer screen or any other job that is strenuous on the mind. Once all taken into account hopefully you will decrease your percentage of gaining a tension headache.
There is a wide variety of tension headache tablets and treatments out there on the market. Most people will use painkillers to relieve their headaches. Painkillers like Ibuprofen, Aspirin and Codeine are all common treatments. They work by interfering with “pain messages” from the nerve endings. Opiates work in a similar way to opium, which is extracted from poppy flowers (but these can be extremely addictive if not carefully regulated).
To try and relieve your headache try laying in a dark room for a while because your headache may be the result of sensitivity to sunlight or even artificial light. If you feel that you haven’t eaten in a while and you are suffering from a headache go get yourself so plenty of water and something to eat because your headache might be due to dehydration or lack of food.
CBD has natural painkiller properties. Studies have been carried out on the plant showing that it has, in fact, medicinal properties. Headaches are not fun and games. Everyone experiences them at some point and some experience it more than others. But always remember that they don’t last forever so stay positive.
