Although previously, Cannabidiol or CBD have been thought of as harmful substances, there is now a shift in attitude towards them since recent studies have been showing that Cannabidiol can benefit patients who have ADD and ADHD. In fact, these substances are being proven to treat these diseases even better than the treatment offered by pharmaceutical drugs like Ritalin and Dexedrine.
The research on the beneficial effects of Cannabidiol is backed up by credible sources, such as Dr. David Bearman who presented on this matter recently at an international symposium. For much time now, Dr Bearman has remained a front-runner in the research related to the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes. Cannabidiol or CBD’s have been seen to increase the availability of dopamine in the body, thereby having the same effect that other ADHD curing amphetamines have.
Diseases such as ADD and ADHD result as a lack of dopamine, and CBD’s work to treat the disease by eliminating the lack of dopamine that is if they are administered in the correct dosage. To further add to the credibility, there has also been an international symposium at which a group of German scientists further discussed the benefits of CBD. These scientists carried out research in which 22 out of 30 participants used CBD instead of prescribed drugs like Ritalin and Dexedrine.
Among those who switched, they reported a significant reduction in their ADHD symptoms, while others reported the complete elimination of all symptoms altogether. Given the already positive results of these researches, it is likely that the matter will be researched even further to find a definite answer that could help the greater population suffering from such diseases.
It’s important to note that if you want to use CBD or medical cannabis as a method of treatment, you should talk to your local physician or a medical professional. Also, research laws and regulations on medical cannabis as it’s not legal in most places.
