Brain and Eye Physiology Studies

Complications with the brain can be life threatening in all cases. The brain is arguably the most important instrument within our body that keeps us functioning on a daily basis. Without it, we would not be alive. With brain complications come serious life changing events. Disorders involving the brain can include anything from Alzheimer’s disease to brain hemorrhaging or stroke.

We use our eyes at each moment we rise from our sleep. Each moment is captured by our sight and the majority of us would find it difficult to manage without it. Maintaining the health of our eyes is vital and so annual optician visits are always advised. Unfortunately, there are those that suffer with issues involving their eyes health. Bad eyesight can be disabling for some, but thankfully, glasses, contact lenses and even laser eye surgery can be used as short term and permanent solutions. However, there are serious diseases such as glaucoma. Glaucoma damages the eyes optic nerves and can progress into loss of vision and blindness. It is the number one cause of blindness globally and is irreversible.

Studies are currently evaluating how exactly CBD (cannabiniods) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) could tackle both brain and eye diseases. Researchers hope to tackle ocular tissues with the use of CBD in an attempt to protect the retinal cells that causes irreversible damage leading to blindness. There are many brain diseases that are also being examined under the evaluation of CBD remedies, however, since the brain is a very complex subject, more research is needed to fully determine a conclusion.

In regards to your brain and eye overall health, you should always be examined by a doctor or optician to determine the correct precautions to take. Discuss the possibilities of medical cannabis and always check the legality within your state.
