Although the idea of a cannabis-derived wrinkle cream might seem bizarre, CBD anti-aging skin care is becoming more common by the day. Some people may think that CBD skin care is just a fad, but studies have shown that CBD could be quite effective at reducing the fine lines and wrinkles we all have.
Anybody who has bought skin care products in the past will likely be aware of just how much the effectiveness of products can vary. We’ve all shelled out big bucks for the shiniest new facial serum only to discover that it had no visible effect on the skin. It can be difficult to figure out which products will work and which won’t, including those that contain CBD.
Thankfully, the latest science suggests that CBD won’t fall into the category of anti-aging bupkis. Researchers have discovered that CBD oil has a number of different health benefits which could be perfectly suited for aging skin. But what exactly are they? And how are CBD-infused products different from the wrinkle creams you’ve been using until now?
Any anti-aging products worth using contains antioxidants. These are ingredients which can fight off free radicals and the signs of aging that they cause. Vitamin C and Vitamin E are two of the most well-known antioxidants, and they are common ingredients in traditional anti-aging skin care products — but recent studies have shown that CBD may be even more effective at wrinkle repair.
Traditional wrinkle creams tend to include other active ingredients such as retinol cream, hydroxy acids and nianimacide. These ingredients can be very harsh on the skin, and can cause a lot of irritation. Brands usually dilute them very heavily in order to reduce the chance of customers experiencing bad reactions, but even so, many people still do. On the other hand, CBD has been clinically proven to be safe for topical use on the skin.
Otherwise, both traditional and CBD-infused anti-wrinkle products vary too widely to say for sure that one is better than the other. Different brands develop different formulas. Some focus on natural ingredients like CBD and green tea, while others take a more clinical approach, boasting acids and oxides among their ingredients. Some work really well and can result in glowing, youthful skin. Others? Not so much.
Which Is Better, CBD or Your Typical Anti-Wrinkle Creams?
If you’re wondering whether or not there is any hard evidence to suggest that a CBD wrinkle cream is going to be more effective than your old favorite skin care products, unfortunately there isn’t (not yet, anyway). On the flip side, there’s good reason to believe that CBD could offer a safe, natural way to improve skin tone for all skin types. So if you’re about to run out of your usual products, it might be worth giving a CBD-infused cream a try.
