Review details on the Cannabliss organic lip balm

When CBD skin care started becoming more prevalent in the beauty industry a couple of years ago, Cannabliss Organic was one of the first brands I heard about. They were impressive right out of the gate, using full-spectrum CBD and combining it with other healing herbs and oils. Not to mention, they’re vegan and cruelty-free certified. Those two things are not deal breakers to me personally when it comes to beauty products, but always a bonus, and something I keep in mind when vegan and clean beauty-loving friends ask me for recs.

During my cannabis-inspired beauty journey, one of the products I’ve been wanting to find was a CBD-infused lip balm. Many of the lip balms I use are heavily fragranced and flavored (who can resist putting something on your lips that tastes like birthday cake?), so I wanted to find a version with more natural ingredients, that would work really well, but also wouldn’t be boring. I was excited to learn that Cannabliss Organic had a lip product in its lineup: the Bliss Kiss Balm.

Along with full-spectrum CBD, the balm contains hydrating natural ingredients like shea butter, almond oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil — basically all of the oils, plus the antioxidant and anti-aging goji berry and licorice root. I went on a trip recently where the weather was much cooler, and I knew the change would mess with my skin and my lips (they tend to get super dry and cracked after flights). When I returned to L.A., I grabbed all the sheet masks I could and began using the Bliss Kiss Balm.

Is Bliss Kiss Balm Any Good? The Verdict Is …

My first impression is that the amount of various oils in the balm are no joke. Upon application, it feels super nourishing, but also pretty oily. However, all of that was quickly absorbed so my lips felt plump and moisturized and less like I just ate a slice of greasy pizza. The scent is a nice, light, fruity flavor. I enjoy it, but am not tempted to eat it for dessert like my usual lip balms. In the morning, I apply it after washing my face, let it sit for a couple of minutes and wipe it off before applying my lipstick. At night, I leave it on while I sleep and wake up with moisturized, soft lips. After almost a week of using it consistently, I notice I have no painful cracks or peeling — something that happens pretty frequently, especially as a heavy matte lipstick user!

The only negatives I found are, firstly, the cost. At $12, that’s the price of a regular lipstick, but not surprising as it contains full-spectrum CBD. Secondly, it does tend to get a little crumbly in its tube due to the oils. The balm contains a little less than 3 mg of CBD. Whether the CBD is responsible for all the goodness, or it’s because of all the other natural ingredients, or a combination of it all is anyone’s guess. But it is doing everything I need it to do, and because of that, it has my co-sign, and holds the very honorable position of my new favorite lip balm. You can pick up Bliss Lip Balm on the Cannabliss Organic website, Urban Outfitters, and Neiman Marcus.
